You don’t need to get in touch with us, nor do you need to know who the current or previous supplier was. Here are the steps to follow:
- Read your meter. On the day you move in, or on your desired switch date, take a meter reading. It’s also a good idea to take a quick photo of your meter for your records, in case you need it later. For information on how to read your meter, click here.
- Choose your new supplier. Take some time to explore electricity suppliers that suit your needs. Try to look beyond pricing – consider their customer service, reputation, and green energy options. Popular comparison websites are a great place to start.
- Notify your chosen supplier. Once you’ve made your selection, contact them as soon as possible to set up an account and give your most recent meter reading. This ensures accurate billing.
- Leave it to the experts. Your new supplier will notify your previous supplier and close the existing account. If you’re a new tenant, your new supplier will handle any outstanding accounts from the previous occupants, sparing you the hassle. However, if did you want to know the current supplier for the premises, to deal with unusual situations, do contact us.
Your new supplier will give you a switching date. This can be as soon as five days, but you can specify a later date. If you change your mind or find a better supplier, you have 14 days from your contract agreement date to cancel.
