Our use of system charges vary, and are based on the region of Great Britain in which you live.

• The cost of using our cables and substations to supply electricity is called ‘distribution use of system charges’ (“DUoS tariffs”)
• Our DUoS Tariffs are available from our document library, under Use of System Charging statements
• They are not billed direct to customers, but to your chosen electricity supplier
• Our DUoS tariffs change every year and are equal to that used by the host DNO. This means an end customer will pay the same network charges whether connected to a DNO or IDNO. The tariffs are regulated by Ofgem and are published at least a year in advance
• For industrial and commercial customers our charges may be identifiable in the bill you receive from your electricity supplier. We charge your supplier based on:
  • Daily fixed charge,
  • Time of use unit charges
  • The amount of capacity you have reserved on our network, and
  • Reactive power charges.
• For domestic customers and small businesses our charges are generally not visible to you; they are included in the bill you receive from your chosen electricity supplier.
